In a world where lighting solutions have only evolved, DEFINELINE® revolutionises the visual impact of an internal space
DEFINELINE® incorporates a fine defineline light wire into the structure of internal spaces, accentuating surface transitions. The Patent Pending custom aluminium cage is installed prior to plaster-boarding, once skimmed and decorated the product recedes leaving only a thin visible channel which receives the lighting component. Just over 1 mm wide, the fine light lines are unnoticeable until activated. DEFINELINE® is controlled by our custom rack-mounted unit which can be triggered by many standard building automation systems. DEFINELINE® also incorporates an LED diffused backlit shadow gap profile. The combined effect is mesmerising, allowing spaces to literally sketch themselves before your eyes.
DEFINELINE® offers a unique and revolutionary way to redefine internal spaces.
The Patent Pending DEFINELINE® aluminium extrusion design enables the plaster and paint to continue right up to the visible part of the defineline light line wire, including all external edges
DEFINELINE® also enables the internal corners of a room to be defined, all the way to the intersection of each corner
DEFINELINE® also incorporates a lightwell within a number of the aluminium extrusions, enabling a side-lit shadow gap feature to be created. LED Pixel ribbon lighting resides within the lightwell behind the plaster surface, covered by a diffusing film, enabling the shadow gap to be used as a primary light source
DEFINELINE® aluminium external and internal profiles are available in both 90° & 135°, enabling most bays and truncated room scenarios to be fully included within the DEFINELINE® animations
DEFINELINE® also includes a profile to directly abut the third party, for example, a window frame. This can enable the electroluminescent wire to be included in the transition formed by the return and the frame. An additional DEFINELINE® gasket can be installed into the profile to ensure an airtight dry seal
DEFINELINE® includes an aluminium profile that can be used for minimal side-lit drop ceilings. The total additional height is less than 25 mm. This profile not only includes the LED Pixel lightwell and diffusing film but also incorporates the electroluminescent line to define both the edge and the ceiling transition
DEFINELINE® shadow gap profile enables the defineline light line wire to define the edge of the plaster directly up to the shadow gap (This is most noticeable when the LED Pixel lightwell is not being utilised)
DEFINELINE® incorporates a lightwell within the shadow gap aluminium extrusion in which LED ribbon (including addressable pixel ribbon) can sit, all controlled by the DEFINELINE® control system. This enables the shadow gap primary LED lighting to be used within animation sequences
DEFINELINE® shadow gap profile enables the defineline light line wire to also define the back corner of the shadow gap directly up to the abutting structure. (This is most noticeable when the LED Pixel lightwell is not being used)
The DEFINELINE® System is designed to be cut and fitted on-site by accredited installers. Defineline Systems Ltd offers a one day course for experienced trades in the techniques required to install the DEFINELINE® System. This includes:
The DEFINELINE® Control System is a centralised rack-mounted 4U unit that is able to control each individual defineline light line wire length within a number of areas, plus all the addressable LED Pixel ribbons hidden within the Defineline lightwell profiles. Sequences and animations can be pre-programmed and fired via most building automation systems.Â
The DEFINELINE® Control System enables a room to ‘sketch’ itself around the occupant
